← Grapes

Also known as Terrano, Refosco (part).

Cagnina is the Romagna name for Terrano, a red grape of the Refosco family originally from the Carso, grown around Forlì, Ravenna and Cesena. It is made almost exclusively as a soft, sweet, lightly fizzy young red — Cagnina di Romagna — traditionally drunk with roast chestnuts and sweet focaccia in autumn.

It gives deeply colored, low-tannin, high-acid reds with bramble and violet aromas, best enjoyed young and sweet.
