Bosco
Bosco is a native white grape of eastern Liguria, the dominant variety of the Cinque Terre on the steep dry-stone terraces of the La Spezia coast. It is the backbone of both the dry Cinque Terre white and the prized sweet passito Sciacchetrà.
It gives full-bodied, savoury whites with moderate acidity and flavours of ripe orchard fruit, herbs, honey and a marine, saline note reflecting its coastal terroir; when dried for Sciacchetrà it yields intense amber sweet wines of honey, dried fruit and citrus peel.
