Biancolella

Biancolella is a white wine grape most closely associated with the island of Ischia in the Gulf of Naples, where it is one of the two principal white varieties alongside Forastera. It is also grown on the neighbouring islands and along the Amalfi and Sorrento coasts. Cultivated on steep, terraced volcanic slopes, it is one of the signature grapes of Campania's island and coastal viticulture.

Biancolella produces fresh, dry white wines of light-to-medium body and pale straw-yellow color, with delicate white-flower, citrus and herbal notes and a mineral character from the volcanic soils. It is bottled both as a varietal and as a component of the Ischia and Costa d'Amalfi white blends.
