Bianco d'Alessano

Bianco d'Alessano is a white wine grape native to Puglia, grown mainly in the Valle d'Itria — the trulli country of Bari, Brindisi and Taranto — where, alongside Verdeca, it is one of the two pillars of the local white wines. Its name is traditionally linked to the town of Alessano in the Salento.

Bianco d'Alessano gives light-to-medium-bodied dry whites of pale straw color with a delicate citrus, orchard-fruit and light-herbal character and fresh acidity. It is the partner of Verdeca in the Locorotondo and Martina (Martina Franca) DOC blends and appears as a varietal within the Valle d'Itria IGT.
