Biancame

Also known as Bianchello, Greco di Bianchello.

Biancame is a white Italian wine grape of the northern Marche, where the large majority of its plantings lie, with a little across the border in Emilia-Romagna. Under the local name Bianchello it is the grape of Bianchello del Metauro, the everyday white of the Metauro river valley around Fano; it is also called Greco di Bianchello.

It gives fresh, light, highly drinkable whites of pale straw color with green reflections, prized above all for their easy 'beva'. The bright acidity that defines it also makes it a natural base for sparkling wine. Aromas are gentle and delicate, recalling meadow flowers and linden blossom, with a dry, fresh, harmonious palate.
